Mixed Up Chex Mix

School is starting back up and we know that even though our children say that they are dreading going back we know that secretly inside they are happy to get back to a schedule they can stick to and the friends that they have fun with. The only thing that they will be dreading is the homework that their teachers will make them bring home.

As their parents it is our job to make sure that they are happy when they come home. You won’t to be able to put a smile on their face and give them something great to tide them over till dinner and give them the energy to finish up the homework quickly. What better way to do that than with a handful of tasty Mixed Up Chex Mix.

Ingredients:

1 cup butter
1 cup karo syrup
1 cup sugar
6 cup rice chex
6 cup honey grahams
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup cashew halves
1 cup coconut

Directions:

Stir butter, light karo syrup, and sugar in a pan and bring to a boil for 3-4 minutes.

Pour over the top of all the mix. Mix well.

Spread mix on wax paper and let sit for 1 hour or longer.
