Smoky-Hot Barbecue Sauce
Labor day weekend is one of the few holidays during the year that allows for an enjoyable three day weekend with your close friends and family. It is a day of rest from the mundane duties of your job and a day to play outside and of course barbecue before the fall wind picks up.
Hamburgers, hot dogs, and of course ribs and chicken are a must on the menu and must be grilled to perfection. Why not try spicing things up a bit with some homemade smoky-hot barbecue sauce. It will get your taste buds going and leave you craving for more.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups ketchup
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons liquid smoke
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
